Are you an experienced automotive professional seeking a senior leadership position within a busy independent garage? Our client, a reputable and well-established automotive service centre in Walsall, West Midlands, is looking to appoint a Service Manager.
The Service Manager will take full ownership of the aftersales operations, overseeing the service and workshop departments. This Service Manager position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong leadership capabilities and comprehensive mechanical knowledge of cars and light commercial vehicles.
Benefits:
Basic salary up to £40,000, depending on experience
On Target Earnings of approximately £50,000

Full responsibility for a thriving, reputable operation
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm, with Saturdays 8:30am – 12:30pm (1 in 2 rota)Duties:
As Service Manager, manage the full day-to-day operations of the service and workshop departments, ensuring efficiency and performance.
Lead and support Service Advisors and Technicians to meet KPIs and uphold high service standards.
Coordinate customer bookings, handle escalations, and oversee job completion and invoicing.
Utilise mechanical expertise to support diagnostics, repairs, and job costing, including parts sourcing and labour times.
Monitor performance using systems such as DMS, Autodata, and 1Link
Maintain high customer satisfaction through excellent communication and service.
Ensure health and safety compliance within the workshop environment.Requirements:
Proven experience as a Service Manager or Senior Service Advisor within an independent garage environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge of cars and light commercial vehicles.
Experience managing the full service process in a hands-on capacity.
Competency in DMS, Autodata, 1Link, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
