Clinical Support Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Support Assistant within the Childrens Learning Disability and Behaviour Support Service across North Cumbria.
We are looking for a highly motivated, inspirational candidate who is committed to delivering a high-quality service. They will have skills and knowledge in working with children with a learning disability, Positive Behaviour Support, Autism, anxiety and mental health difficulties. They will have excellent communication skills and good interpersonal skills as the service works collaboratively with other health partners and the third sector to deliver the care to our families. They will be able to demonstrate their personal alignment with the Trust Values.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support children with a learning disability and or Autism and their families across the Early intervention, learning disability and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) pathways. The facilitation of parent workshops is an integral part of service delivery along with the framework of Positive Behaviour Support, which will be applied by the post holder to support children and their families to increase quality of life outcomes and reduce behaviours which may challenge.
The post holder will be working under the direct supervision of the team within the Community Setting.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GSCE maths and English at C or above/ equivalent adult learning qualification
* Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-level, NVQ3) in Care or Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE, NVQ2) in care and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment to post
* Further qualification in Learning Disabilities/Positive Behaviour Support/Mental Health/Child Development
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working with service users with complex health needs within a community setting
* Experience of working with Children in Mental Health/Learning Disabilities health setting
* Evidence of time management and autonomous working
Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication
* Time Management
* Be willing to complete further appropriate training
Role Specific Requirements
* Excellent organisational and time management skills including ability to manage conflicting demands and work under pressure
* Ability to foster good working relationships
* Evidence of working within a team environment
* Evidence of MDT working
