Key Responsibilities
As an Estimator at OCU, you will support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction and utilities projects across the UK.
You will work closely with experienced estimators, engineers, and project managers to analyse project requirements, gather data, and develop financial forecasts—helping to ensure projects are delivered cost‑effectively and competitively.
The role involves working on a range of projects including 11kV to 132kV substations and associated underground cabling works, delivered on a full civil and electrical design and build basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with a leading energy transition and utilities contractor, contributing to high‑profile infrastructure developments within the power sector.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Civil or Electrical estimating experience.
* Experience of 132kV substation projects is essential.
* Strong numerical and problem‑solving skills with an eye for detail.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Awareness of UK building regulations and health & safety practices is beneficial.
