Offer description

Overview

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated NMC Registered Midwife to become part of the Dingwall Community Midwifery Team. The team is based at Ross Lodge, Ross Memorial Hospital, Dingwall Health Centre and covers the Dingwall, Black Isle and Beauly and Wester Ross caseloads. The team looks after approximately 350 women per year. This post will also include clinics and covering visits in the Wester Ross midwifery team area. There may be occasions when the post holder may work within the other teams in Inner Moray Firth.

The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach, be a good team player and have excellent time management skills. Working in a remote and rural area would be an advantage. Community experience is desirable but not essential and is suitable for Band 6 Registered Midwife to apply.

This post is 37 hours per week permanent to meet the needs of the service. Part time may be considered but the minimum hours would be 22.2 hours per week (an extra 7 hours may be available).

There is an on call commitment required for the provision of a Home Birth/Domino service within the Inner Moray Firth Community Midwifery Teams and Wester Ross.

A full/current driving licence is essential for this post along with the use of your own car. Dingwall has excellent road and rail links and Inverness airport is only 22 miles away. Based 15 miles North West of Inverness which is the gateway to the Highlands and the start of the North Coast 500 which leads to stunning coastal scenery. Dingwall is close to many lovely spots for walks, wild swimming, mountain biking, and Munros for outdoor enthusiasts.
