The Role The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stages 4 and 5, helping students develop a strong understanding of business concepts, economic theory, entrepreneurship, and contemporary global issues. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons in Business and Economics. Teaching GCSE, A-Level, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications as required. Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress to ensure all learners achieve their full potential. Providing targeted intervention and support to students requiring additional guidance. Contributing to curriculum development and the continual improvement of teaching and learning within the department. Maintaining high standards of behaviour, attendance, and student engagement. Supporting enrichment activities, including enterprise projects, business competitions, careers events, and educational visits. Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Contributing to the wider life of the school through form tutoring and extracurricular activities. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a closely related subject. Experience teaching Business Studies and/or Economics at secondary and post-16 level. Strong knowledge of current examination specifications and assessment requirements. A proven track record of raising attainment and achieving excellent outcomes. Outstanding communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. The ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students of all abilities. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
