Company Overview
We are looking to recruit a passionate, enthusiastic, committed and hard working Nursery Housekeeper to join our outstanding team. This is a brand-new position, specifically tailor-made for our setting to support our housekeeping needs.
The ideal candidate must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning. Previous experience in childcare settings is a plus but not required.
This is a part time permanent position; 25 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours 3-8pm. We are open 48 weeks of the year
Our setting is unique in many ways... we are owned by a Board of Governors who are very passionate about investing profits straight back into the nursery and its employees, which is clearly visible throughout our learning environment, resources and equipment, ongoing projects and exciting future plans.
Responsibilities
* Clean and sanitize classrooms, bathrooms, offices, kitchen and communal areas daily.
* Disinfect toys, furniture and play equipment according to schedule and guidelines.
* Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, hand towels and sanitizing products.
* Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, floors and surfaces.
* Ensure laundry (e.g., towels, bedding and cloths) is washed and stored properly.
* Hoover / mop the school hall and mop / clean bathrooms at the end of each holiday club week.
* Follow cleaning checklists and record tasks completed.
* Maintain the staff room clean and tidy, sanitise the kitchen area daily and staff fridge weekly.
* Store away deliveries of consumables and take charge of stock check.
* Distribute resource deliveries amongst the rooms as per their order sheets.
* Empty and dispose of waste according to nursery hygiene and safety standards.
* Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Nursery Manager promptly.
* Assist with setting up and tidying away equipment and furniture when needed.
* Follow infection control protocols, especially during illness outbreaks.
* Support occasional deep cleaning during holidays or closures.
