The Role
- Based primarily at the Hemel Hempstead sitewith occasional UK and European travelyou will lead the technical direction of electrical systems across the region.
Youll support engineering, operations, commissioning, and optimisation activities, ensuring consistently high reliability across all critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities Act as the regional Subject Matter Expert for all electrical systems Support the creation and implementation of Technical Operations standards Assist in shaping energy business cases for infrastructure upgrades Conduct regular site tours, inspections, and performance reviews Participate in and support internal and external audits Develop and review commissioning procedures, including subcontractor oversight Lead post-handover lessons learned sessions to drive continuous improvement Provide operational performance updates to key stakeholders Offer cross-training support to regional teams, including mechanical & cooling systems Carry out project management duties (planning, costing, procurement, supervision) Participate in the regional EMEA call-out and escalation team What Youll Bring
- Significant experience working in a critical electrical environment data centres, telecoms, utilities, or similar Degree educated: BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering Experience working alongside senior leadership within technical operations Strong technical knowledge of LV/HV systems, UPS, standby generation, BMS/EMS Experience in HV/LV switching operations Understanding of electrical safety, maintenance governance, and operational frameworks Familiarity with SOP/EOP development and the CAB process Ideally experienced in data centre environments Working knowledge of discrimination studies, arc flash, and short circuit analysis Awareness of RCA frameworks and the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle Recognised European Health & Safety qualification (desirable) Comfortable working in a European multi-cultural environment Soft Skills Ability to travel up to 30% nationally and internationally Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills Knowledge of EN 50110, REBT-2002, or similar standards Why Join?
