We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time (3 or 4 days) Healthcare Assistant to come and join the friendly St Thomas Medical GroupNursing Team.
The preferred hours are:- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 08:3017:00 these can be negotiable for right applicant.
The Group have three sites across Exeter.
The Practice uses SystmOne.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent skillmix, be friendly, have a good sense of humour and be flexible. The successfulcandidates will be expected to work across sites.

Main duties of the job

Supportthe practice nurse and patient with health promotion initiatives
Carryout baseline observations such as ECG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature,pulse rate, and other appropriate clinical indicators recording findingsaccurately
Undertakewound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
Supportthe practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
Carryout BMI checks as directed
Whentrained, undertake venepuncture
Whentrained, administer flu vaccinations and other injectable therapies
Whentrained, carry out ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse
Ensurespecimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
Providesupport during minor operations and contraception clinics as required
Ensureall clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
Ensureclinical waste is managed in clinical areas and sharps bins replaced inaccordance with the practice IPC policy
Deliveropportunistic health promotion where appropriate

Qualifications
* Healthcare qualification/experience (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level
* Ear syringing certification
