As we continue to expand our UK operations, we are looking for an organised, analytical, and ambitious Assistant Estimator to join our growing pre‑construction team.
The Role
As an Assistant Estimator, you will support the preparation of accurate, competitive, and technically robust tenders for a wide range of design‑and‑build projects. Working closely with senior estimators, designers, and project managers, you will help ensure that every bid reflects Goldbeck’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and intelligent engineering.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for industrial and commercial building projects.
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and employer requirements to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
* Liaise with internal design teams to develop compliant and cost‑effective technical solutions.
* Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
* Maintain and update cost databases, benchmarking information, and pricing models.
* Support value‑engineering exercises and alternative solution proposals.
* Contribute to bid presentations, tender clarifications, and client meetings where required.
* Ensure all estimating activities align with Goldbeck’s processes, standards, and system‑build methodology.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail‑driven, and eager to develop within a fast‑growing business. You will ideally have:
* 1 – 3 Years experience within an Estimating capacity.
* Experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or pre‑construction within construction or a related field.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Confidence reading technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn Goldbeck’s system‑build approach.
* Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with estimating software is an advantage.
