Overview
Community Stroke Rehabilitation are looking for a qualified physiotherapist with experience in stroke rehabilitation to join our team. The post will be based at Chester le Street Hospital, treating patients in and around the Durham and North Durham area. The successful candidate will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and associates to deliver evidence-based stroke rehabilitation in patients' homes and outpatient settings to optimise recovery.
This is a full-time permanent post, Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:30.
The role is diverse and challenging and we are looking for someone to join our friendly team and meet the needs of patients, bringing ideas to service delivery and development. We provide hospital services from multiple sites and community-based settings and offer care in patients' homes.

Responsibilities
The post holder has lead responsibility in delivering the following result areas:
* Specialist Clinical Practice: maintain specialist clinical skills, organise and prioritise own workload, screen and plan interventions, prioritise patients, maintain timely documentation, establish empathetic relationships with patients and carers, communicate effectively complex information, and supervise others as required.
* Leader of Clinical Practice: liaise with the multidisciplinary team, provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and treatment within a designated specialism, be professionally and legally accountable, promote a coordinated service, participate in clinical governance, and deputise for the Band 7 clinical lead when asked.
* Manager of Resources: plan staffing, recruit and develop a skill mix, supervise staff, contribute to flexible service delivery, collect data, and ensure safe equipment use.
* Professional Development: maintain CPD, participate in appraisals, supervision, audits, and ongoing development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: HCPC registered physiotherapist; BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent; comprehensive and relevant experience in physical rehabilitation; experience working in multidisciplinary teams; evidence of communication skills; ongoing CPD; ability to travel as required.
* Desirable: CSP membership; post-graduate courses relevant to the specialism; experience in community settings, staff appraisal, and NHS experience.
Special Skills and Knowledge
* Up-to-date knowledge and skills in assessment and treatment of a wide range of physical disabilities; ability to work within clinical governance and data protection policies; ability to work under pressure and in a stressful environment; ability to work independently and delegate workload; self-directed learning and critical appraisal skills.
* Desirable: presentational skills, IT skills, clinical supervision of others, clinical educator experience, ability to challenge professional boundaries.
