Job Summary
We are looking for a Deputy Manager at Akari Care who is passionate about caring for the elderly and wants to build a long‑term career in one of our award‑winning homes. The role involves working with the Home Manager and a multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the home, providing personalised, high‑quality nursing and residential care, and supporting residents’ physical, emotional and social needs.
Job Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Home Manager and multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver personalised care to residents.
* Ensure the home runs efficiently, including budgeting, financial controls and health and safety protocols.
* Take full responsibility for human resources matters, including staff recruitment, training, coaching and performance management.
* Co‑manage emergency responses and complex incidents (e.g. serious accidents or infectious disease outbreaks).
* Promote and support the working environment through marketing initiatives and engagement with residents, families and the wider community.
* Support ongoing professional development for yourself and your team.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care.
* Experience working within the health‑care sector.
* Leadership/management experience (essential) and relevant qualifications (desirable).
* Active NMC certificate with a PIN (or equivalent registration).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt under pressure.
* Respectful, warm and approachable manner.
