Position Overview
A leading UK manufacturer in the Kidderminster area are looking for two Multiskilled Maintenance Engineers to join their team on a flexible days based working pattern.
The ideal candidate will be a hard‑working and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They will report to the Maintenance Manager and provide planned, preventative maintenance expertise along with responses to reactive breakdowns.
Role: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Kidderminster
Salary: Circa £39,500 (£19ph) + good OTE opportunities
Shift: Flexible days (40 hour work week)
Key Responsibilities
* Equipment Maintenance & Repair
o Carry out routine, preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
o Diagnose issues and troubleshoot equipment faults to determine required repairs.
o Service and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Preventive Maintenance Program (PPM)
o Execute scheduled PPM tasks for all manufacturing equipment and machinery.
o Track equipment performance and condition to predict and prevent potential failures.
o Installation & Commissioning
+ Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
+ Ensure all installations comply with safety, quality and operational standards.
o Continuous Improvement
+ Identify and implement improvements to strengthen the PPM and boost equipment reliability and efficiency.
+ Seek opportunities to enhance equipment safety, performance and uptime.
+ Participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
+ Apply corrective actions to eliminate root causes and prevent repeated issues.
o Safety & Compliance
+ Ensure all maintenance work adheres to safety regulations and company procedures.
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, including work orders, logs and equipment history.
o Technical Support
+ Provide technical assistance to the production team to minimise downtime and maintain efficient operations.
+ Train production staff on correct equipment use and basic maintenance practices.
+ Perform tool setting for all equipment on‑site.
o Inventory Management
+ Record spare parts usage to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Key Requirements
o Proven competence in electrical system installation, maintenance and repair.
o Mechanical or electrical bias with solid hands‑on engineering experience.
o Fully apprentice‑trained, time‑served engineer (or equivalent qualification).
o Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, PLC control, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
o Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and documentation.
o Experience using CMMS platforms.
o Excellent problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o A clear commitment to safety, compliance and best practice.
