We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed Registered Nurses to our team on Ward 9 and the Coniston Suite at Furness General Hospital.
Ward 9 is a busy medical ward with specialties in gastroenterology and cardiology. The ward also includes an 11-bed refurbished inpatient oncology/haematology suite. We are Gold Standard accredited for providing high standards of care for our end of life patients and pride ourselves on our Maple Suite.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to a satisfactory 6-month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give new staff members an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
We are looking for qualified nurses to join our team.
Responsibilities
* A Registered Nurse will actively assess, plan, implement & evaluate patient care with the multidisciplinary team, incorporating the whole of the patient’s pathway.
* Aware of the structure and organisation of the NHS and regulatory bodies' code of practice, and will implement this into nursing practice.
* Participate in Clinical Governance by auditing the effectiveness of practice and incorporating findings.
* Act as mentor or assessor in supervising and teaching of junior staff and unregistered staff.
About the Trust and Sites
We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal. We also work across community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides General Hospital services with an Urgent Treatment Centre to help with non-life-threatening conditions.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day-case and inpatient surgery, with local outreach services and diagnostics provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
