Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to provide accurate cost estimates and maintain financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
* Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
* Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential projects.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate project specifications.
* Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, and bills of quantities.
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible terms.
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
* Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes as necessary.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Requirements
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
* Proven experience in quantity surveying or a similar role within the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
* Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on cost control.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
