We're recruiting a Mobile Electrical Engineer to support our partnership with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Council — covering libraries, community buildings, offices, leisure sites and civic facilities.
This role suits someone who enjoys mobile working, takes pride in high standards, and cares about safe, compliant buildings.
About the Kingston contract
You'll help keep Kingston's buildings open, safe and efficient by supporting:
- Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
- Statutory compliance tasks
- Reactive repairs and fault finding
- Small upgrades and improvement works
- Energy-efficiency and sustainability projects (e.g. LED and controls)
- You'll work closely with council teams and Mitie colleagues to support Kingston's wider net-zero ambitions.
What you'll be doing - Do you like roles where you can see the impact of your work straight away?
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across RBK sites
- Install, upgrade and complete minor electrical works to current standards
- Fault find and resolve issues safely and quickly
- Keep accurate records, service sheets and compliance documentation
- Communicate clearly with clients, suppliers and contractors
- Follow safe systems of work and report hazards promptly

What we're looking for - Do you want to work with a supportive engineering team?
- Experience in facilities management or mobile maintenance
- Experience working across multiple sites or a region
- Level 2 & 3 City & Guilds (or NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation)
- 18th Edition and Test & Inspect
- Good knowledge of statutory compliance (e.g. emergency lighting, fixed-wire testing)
- Ability to read drawings, problem-solve and communicate clearly
(Training will be provided where needed.)
