Role Synopsis:
We are seeking a Design Manager to join our Mobility and Convenience Construction team. You will lead all aspects of the technical design of M&C UK's construction projects, managing the design team and overseeing activities related to producing construction-ready deliverables.
The role requires a good understanding of current design technology trends and the ability to incorporate them into new projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing feedback and support.
2. Build relationships with business partners and suppliers, including architects.
3. Aspire to eliminate safety risks in design.
4. Oversee the development of design guides and drawings, collaborating with the construction team and other departments.
5. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, internal guidelines, and product strategies.
7. Stay updated with design trends and technology developments, proposing implementations.
8. Develop and maintain design standards, procedures, and documentation.
9. Perform peer reviews and quality sampling of designs and documentation.
Key Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in design or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Project management experience (certifications preferred).
* Experience in a design leadership role.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to analyze and solve complex design problems.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail and a keen eye for design.
* Proficiency in design software.
