Aspiring Probation Officer - Young Offenders - Mental Health - Dorking - Education and Training
The school is based near Dorking and provides support for children aged 9-16 years with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. All students have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) detailing their specific needs. The school offers a safe environment and therapies such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, music, speech, and language therapies, integrated with the curriculum team to support students' physical and emotional needs.
Responsibilities include:
* Assisting and supervising children's behaviour during the school day and supporting their learning and participation in class
* Working with individual students or groups both inside and outside the classroom
* Encouraging social skills development and supporting individual needs
* Building confidence and motivation
* Participating in team meetings and training
* Maintaining progress records
Requirements include:
* An undergraduate degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field
* Understanding of diverse learning and behavioural needs
* Good education in English and Maths (A Levels preferred)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a caring attitude
Additional details:
* Roles include Aspiring Probation Officer, Youth Criminal Justice, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant
* Daily rate: £89 to £105 (5-day week, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm)
* Experience in special needs, mental health, trauma, or SEN settings preferred
* Start date: May 25, with 1-year contracts
