We are recruiting an experienced Groundworker on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor for a specialist infrastructure and barrier installation project in Bermondsey, London.

* Start Date: 23rd June 2025
* Duration: 10 days
* Location: Bermondsey, London (near Underground station)
* Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
* Day rate: up to ÂŁ300.00 (DoE)
This project involves infrastructure replacement and security barrier installation, including:
* Reinforced concrete foundation works
* Trial pit excavation and ground investigation
* Specialist concrete pad and structural installations
* Backfilling, compaction, and ground preparation
* Safe working around live buried services and HV cables
You’ll be working in challenging ground conditions (subsidence areas, restricted access, live utilities) requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and coordination with other contractors on site.
âś… Essential Requirements:
* Valid CSCS card
* NRSWA StreetWorks certification
* Relevant groundworks qualifications
Mandatory Health & Safety Certifications:
* Asbestos Awareness, Environmental Awareness, First Aid, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Basic Fire Safety Awareness, Locate Utility Services
🛠️ Key Experience:
* Reinforced concrete foundations and pad construction
* Trial pit excavation and service location
* Safe working around HV cables and buried services
* Backfilling and compaction to industry standards
* Previous work in subsidence-affected or unstable ground conditions
* Experience with London site constraints and multi-trade coordination
