Are you a passionate and dedicated School Psychologist looking to make a real difference in the lives of students? The Lancaster County School District is excited to invite you to apply for our School Psychologist position for the 2025-2026 academic year in beautiful Lancaster, South Carolina.
Position Overview
This full-time role (37.5 hours/week) offers a unique hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to provide both onsite and virtual psychological services to a diverse K-12 caseload. You will play a vital role in supporting the academic success, social-emotional development, and mental health of our students.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Evaluation
* Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for students referred for special education eligibility.
* Interpret data from evaluations to inform educational planning.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and write legally defensible reports.
Consultation & Collaboration
* Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
* Contribute to IEP and Section 504 Plan meetings.
* Provide consultation on academic accommodations and behavior management strategies.
Intervention & Support
* Design and implement academic and behavioral interventions as part of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
* Support the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
* Offer short-term counseling or skill-building sessions to students in need.
Crisis Prevention & Response
* Be a key member of the district's crisis response team.
* Provide immediate support during times of crisis or trauma.
Professional Development & Training
* Deliver training on trauma-informed practices and mental health awareness.
* Stay updated on best practices in school psychology and educational policy.
Required Qualifications
* Valid South Carolina Department of Education Certification as a School Psychologist (Level II or III preferred).
* Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved program.
* Experience in a K-12 school setting preferred; new graduates with strong internship experience are encouraged to apply.
* Familiarity with federal and South Carolina education laws, including IDEA and Section 504.
* Proficient in standardized assessment tools and data-driven decision making.
