About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council’s ASB Enforcement Team. Brent London Borough Council is looking to recruit an ASB Enforcement Officer to join a multi‑skilled innovative enforcement team. The role involves engaging with people begging, rough sleeping, street drinking and other behaviours that negatively affect businesses and premises throughout London. You will provide help and support to those who need it by directing them to the available support services. This high‑profile role will make a real difference to the lives of those who experience anti‑social behaviour in London.
About You
* Responsible for investigating anti-social behaviour incidents across a broad range of tenures and the wider community.
* Contact support services and manage a varied, complex caseload.
* Adopt a multi‑agency approach, providing effective interventions to achieve the best outcomes for residents and businesses.
* Operate professionally and efficiently to deliver a high‑quality service in line with council policies and procedures.
* Investigate, gather evidence, prepare witness statements to support legal proceedings, and give evidence in court.
Person Specification
* Calm and assertive manner with the ability to deal professionally and diplomatically with people from all backgrounds.
* Resilient character; capable of handling confrontational situations.
* Ability to defuse hostile situations professionally.
* Good observational and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills for report writing and speaking with the public.
* Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure, independently or as part of a team.
* Capable of standing and walking for long periods in varying weather.
* Requires a full UK driving licence.
Full DBS and a five‑year checkable employment history will be required.
