Overview
Theatre Healthcare Assistant - Fixed Term
Location: Bristol (Newmedica Bristol Aztec, 720 Aztec West, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4UD). This fixed term role runs until the end of March 2026. We are happy to consider full or part time applications. Applicants will be expected to work weekends on a rota basis.
Responsibilities
* Support patients through their full surgical pathway, from admissions to theatre and discharge.
* Assist in preparing theatre, conduct safety checks, and support the scrub nurse and theatre team.
* Provide patient care during discharge, including information on post-surgical care and medication dispensing (following training and competencies).
* Maintain accurate records and documentation with a focus on patient safety.
* Put patients at ease, working in a calm and process-driven way to deliver excellent care.

Your Next Role – What You'll Do
As a member of bank staff, you will work on a flexible, as-needed basis to cover staff absences or short-term staffing needs, including weekends. You will play an active role in the theatre pathway, supporting patients and the multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and positive patient journey.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a healthcare or surgical environment (advantageous).
* Clinical and/or administrative skills with enjoyment of a process-driven and regulated environment.
* A passion for healthcare and supporting patients.
* Commitment to delivering consistently high standards of care.
* Confident user of Office 365 and tech systems (training provided).
* Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Team player mentality with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
* Ability to manage competing priorities with calm and clarity.
* Understanding of CQC standards (advantageous).
