We are currently recruiting for a QA Team Leader to join a local company based in Burton on Trent. This is a fantastic permanent position with an expanding organisation offering stability, career progression, and an excellent working environment.

Hours of work:
* Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00 (AM shift)
or
* Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:00 (PM shift)
Pay rate:
* £35,000 per annum
Daily tasks:
* Provide daily oversight, coaching, and coordination for QA Technicians, ensuring that routine checks and verifications are carried out effectively.
* Monitor task completion across all shifts to guarantee consistent coverage and high-quality output.
* Complete and oversee execution of all shift-based QA checks, including foreign body audits, traceability exercises, label and document verification, weight control, and environmental monitoring.
* Promote a constant state of audit readiness by ensuring records are completed accurately and on time.
* Support the implementation of corrective actions and contribute to pre-audit preparations alongside the QA Manager.
* Lead the onboarding and technical training of new QA Technicians.
* Deliver ongoing training and provide real-time feedback to support continuous skill development within the team.
* Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Technical teams to resolve quality issues in real time.
* Champion a proactive food safety culture by engaging daily with the QA team and operational colleagues.
Skills required:
* Previous experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing or a similar environment.
* Previous experience supervising or coordinating shift-based teams (desirable).
* Knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP, GMP, and BRC.
* HACCP Level 2 and Food Safety Level 3 (or willingness to obtain).
* Effective communicator with good coaching, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
