Yarm area / Monday – Friday
My client is looking to recruit a reliable, outgoing person to support her son to access the community and day centre.
‘O’ is 19 years old and non-verbal. He has a cheeky sense of humour and loves being out and about. He likes visiting supermarkets, and enjoys meeting people. He lives in the family home, along with his siblings and the family dog.
He requires 2:1 support
Days & hours of working are fixed at :
MONDAY Morning 7.30 am – 9.30 am / Afternoon 2.30pm to 5.30pm
TUESDAY 7.30am – 5.30pm – O attends hyrdrotherapy on this day
WEDNESDAY Morning 7.30am – 9.30am / Afternoon 2.30pm – 9.30pm
THURSDAY Morning 7.30am – 9.30am / Afternoon 2.30 pm– 5.30pm
FRIDAY Morning 7.30am – 9.30am / Afternoon 2.30pm to 5.30pm
Duties to include
- support to get ready for the day and transport to his day centre - pick up from day centre and return to home. - Support with meals and activities until family - Support to attend weekly hyrdrotherapy sessions – application must be
comfortable in and around water- Some personal care may be required from time to time.
Driver essential – family have an adapted Motability vehicle. The successful candidate will be added to the insurance policy.
Experience with a hoist preferred, but full training would be given if required
A knowledge of epilepsy would also be an advantage.
An enhanced DBS will be required, however the cost of the check will be met by the employer.
