Job Plan Commitment: 10 PA
We are looking for a Interventional Consultant Radiologist to join the Radiology team at GWH. The posts are full‑time, but part‑time applicants will also be considered.
The Radiology department is well‑equipped with two 128‑slice Siemens CT scanners, two 1.5T Siemens MRI scanners, digital screening rooms, updated US machines, a newly installed SPECT CT and a new dual‑source Cardiac CT scanner. CT and MRI vans/static scanners are available for additional workload at our Community Diagnostic Centre in West Swindon.
The Breast Centre is the base for the Wiltshire Breast Screening Service for Swindon, North and West Wiltshire. We screen nearly 100,000 women over a three‑year cycle. There are two screening vans and a static facility at the Great Western Hospital. The Breast Centre also provides a symptomatic service for Swindon and Wiltshire and has Hologic mammography units with tomosynthesis. We are setting up a contrast‑enhanced mammography (CEM) service shortly and localisations are usually performed with Magseed.
The Radiologists are a happy, functional and hard‑working team. It is important to note that there is a private practice which works as a co‑operative.
