Offer description

Are you a Nurse with lapsed registration who is thinking of returning to practice?

We are currently able to offer clinical placements for up to six months, across a range of specialties. The placement will consist of a minimum of 150 clinical hours - over a minimum of 10 weeks and a maximum of 26 weeks depending on your experience. Alongside your clinical placement you will need to attend the Return to Nursing Practice Programme at Bournemouth University. This course prepares you for re-entry onto the NMC register. Theory is taught at the University.

The programme is funded by NHS England. The placement element is unpaid.

Returning to nursing is a big decision and one that requires structured support. At DCH we have a practice education team who will work closely with you and your Practice Assessor during your clinical practice placement.

Once you have completed your clinical placement and the requirements of the NMC for Return to Nursing Practice, DCH will support your application for a Band 5 Preceptorship post.

Return to nursing practice students undertaking this role will be expected to:

* Recognise and consistently work within the boundaries of the role whilst developing skills, knowledge and competencies to progress their education and training.
* Take responsibility for balancing the requirements of the job role, with ongoing academic study, seeking advice and support as appropriate from practice supervisors and assessors, the education team, and their university if applicable.
* Actively pursue all opportunities and use protected learning time to develop their skills, knowledge and competencies.
* Be actively involved in providing direct and indirect compassionate care for patients in support of the multidisciplinary team.
* Undertake a range of delegated clinical patient care duties and be expected to work under direct or indirect supervision of a registered practitioner.
* Assist in the overall implementation and evaluation of care as part of the multi professional team.
* Be expected to plan, implement, deliver and maintain high standards of patient care

At DCHFT, we pride ourselves on the care we provide for our patients, and on the culture, we are creating for our staff. We work hard to create a fair, inclusive environment for our staff.

Our Mission is to work in partnership to provide high quality, compassionate services and to nurture an environment where people can be at their best. Our vision is healthier lives, empowered citizens, thriving communities.

We are a Trust that celebrates diversity, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from people in all under-represented groups.

While this is not discouraged, we kindly remind candidates that all submissions must be truthful and accurately reflect your own experiences and suitability for this role.
