Job Summary
The NMTR coordinator is an integral member of our team. You will have responsibility for collecting a broad range of clinical and outcome data relating to Trauma admissions and enter the data onto the National Major Trauma Registry.
You will work closely with colleagues to meet submission deadlines and ensure high-quality data for national dashboards, peer review, and other assessments, audits, and research projects.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide accurate data collection for all major trauma patients for NMTR submission.
2. Ensure NMTR eligible patient details are submitted within 40 days of discharge.
3. Interpret and consolidate information from multiple sources for complete and accurate patient records.
4. Accurately and promptly enter Trauma data into the NMTR database, liaising with clinical and management teams to resolve issues.
5. Support clinical teams by compiling and disseminating information to manage performance and adapt practices.
6. Provide data to internal and external users as instructed.
7. Conduct ad-hoc data analyses, ensuring understanding and proper use of data.
8. Assist in auditing information systems for accurate patient activity recording.
9. Validate data quality, make corrections, and investigate issues with Trust Managers.

Job Responsibilities
* Accurate collection and submission of trauma data to NMTR.
* Ensure timely data submission within 40 days of discharge.
* Consolidate information from multiple sources for complete records.
* Timely data entry and issue resolution through liaising with teams.
* Support performance management and clinical practice improvements.
* Provide data to internal and external users.
* Perform data analysis and advise on data use.
* Follow Data Protection Act guidelines.
Data Collection and Processing
* Assist in auditing and correcting patient activity data.
* Update information systems for accuracy and completeness.
* Gather external/internal data to improve records.
* Investigate and correct data issues with Trust Managers.
Other Duties
* Assist colleagues and maintain current procedures.
* Cover for colleagues during absences or peak periods.

Person Specification
Knowledge/Understanding
Essential: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Desirable: Understanding of clinical systems, audit skills, NMTR processes, coding.
Skills
Excellent communication skills for all staff levels.
Qualifications
Essential: GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4 or higher).
Desirable: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Experience
Essential: NHS/Healthcare administrative experience, data interpretation skills.
Desirable: Experience working across multiple persons or sites.
Personal Qualities
Ability to prioritize, organize, communicate confidently, pay attention to detail, work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative. Desirable qualities include dealing with senior staff, presenting data, and NHS knowledge.
