Maintenance Technician – Grade 1
Job Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and buildings. Your responsibilities include maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and assisting with special projects. Tasks include groundskeeping, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, and machinery repairs.
Your main goal is to keep facilities, common areas, and machinery in good condition. Successful maintenance technicians pay attention to detail, have good manual skills, and solve problems effectively.
* Shift: 2nd Shift (hours may vary based on facility needs)
* Must train on 1st shift for 2 weeks or until training is complete (Monday-Thursday 6 am - 3 pm, Friday 6 am - Noon)
* Hours: 3:00 PM - 2:00 AM
* Occasional weekends
* Pay: $26.25 per hour
Facilities Maintenance Responsibilities:
* Inspect building, HVAC, electrical systems, grounds, and machinery. Test systems, identify problems, and report to Maintenance Supervisor.
* Perform routine maintenance such as mowing, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
* Track maintenance items and tools via inventory checks.
* Record material usage, labor hours, and manage work orders in the maintenance system.
* Complete additional tasks as directed by management.
Preventive Maintenance:
* Conduct preventive maintenance, including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and adjustments.
* Disassemble machinery for repairs, inspect parts, clean equipment, and reassemble.
Machine Maintenance Duties:
* Fix machine issues, such as adjusting photo eyes, ensuring proper operation, and replacing parts.
* Train machine operators on proper use and care of equipment.
* Follow safety protocols like Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and comply with safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of operating, repairing, and maintaining facilities, equipment, and machinery.
* Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends.
* Familiarity with safety programs and compliance standards.
* High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC or building maintenance certification is a plus.
* Physical ability to walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), kneel, reach, and perform other tasks.
* Skill in using a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
* At least one year of experience with automated manufacturing equipment or facilities maintenance; education can be substituted for experience.
* English and Spanish communication skills are a plus.
