Project Director - South East/London
Due to continued growth and contract wins J. Murphy & Sons have created a new and exciting role for a Project Director to lead a prestigious project based out of South East/London. As the Project Director you will be involved with the initial work winning phase through to delivery and project completion, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast paced environment where you will be given autonomy from day one.

What you will be doing
1. Deliver all work on a large and technically complex project or a number of medium projects, ensuring work is completed on time and to the agreed standard.
2. Sets the overall standard on the project/contract, ensuring consistency across projects and in line with standards policies and procedures.
3. Build and develop the wider operational and project management team to build management capability and deliver all aspects of the project/contract requirements.
4. Line management of Project Managers that are accountable for the operational delivery of the project.
5. Provide strategic updates to Senior Management
6. Responsible for strategic client relationship management.
7. Contributes to work winning at a strategic level.
8. Will be expected to resolve all operational and some strategic issues.
9. Will support the Business Unit MD in developing strategic plans for the next 2/3 years.
10. Comply with company standards, policies and procedures recommending improvements where necessary. Mirror the Murphy Values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect in all behaviours.
11. Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Who we’re looking for
12. Professionally qualified construction representative - member of a professional body.
13. Demonstrable experience leading building projects
14. Project management methodology knowledge essential.
15. Proven track record in project management delivering projects/contracts of a similar nature.
16. Able to develop positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
17. Driven with a passion for excellence
18. Proven ability to lead teams and coach on performance
