General Manager, Co Antrim, Competitive Salary This established engineering and manufacturing business provides specialist equipment for the waste and recycling sector. Supplying both public and private sector clients across the UK and Ireland, the company designs and supports robust, high-quality solutions from its Northern Ireland base. As part of their continued growth and investment, they are now seeking a hands-on and commercially minded General Manager to lead and develop all non-production functions across the business. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape key infrastructure, deliver strategic projects, and build the systems and teams that will support the next phase of growth. The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of all business areas outside of direct manufacturing. Working closely with both the MD and the Production Manager, youll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the wider business while driving forward high-impact strategic initiatives. Your immediate priorities will include designing and implementing a robust parts and stock control function, setting up a new service facility in England to support the growing UK customer base, and establishing a formal SHEQ function to enhance quality, health and safety, and environmental standards. These projects will require a structured and practical approach, with a focus on systems, processes, and team development. Beyond these, you will lead functions including logistics, servicing, aftersales, facilities, and business systems- bringing visibility, rigour, and continuous improvement to all aspects of non-production operations. Youll also play a key role in strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring full regulatory compliance across the business. The Person You are a commercially minded operator with solid experience in engineering or manufacturing, and a proven ability to lead across multiple functions. You know how to build effective systems, develop capable teams, and drive real operational improvement. Youll bring experience in areas such as ERP or stock control implementation, SHEQ leadership, and infrastructure or site setup projects. Structured and decisive, you thrive in fast-paced, technical environments and lead with a clear, practical mindset.
