Description
Priory Hospital Preston is looking to recruit a Medical Secretary/General Administrator to join the team. This is a part time role of 22.5 hours. Priory Hospital Preston is a 50-bedded mental health hospital, offering an extensive range of services, delivered across four wards. We can support adult males and females with acute mental health needs and eating disorders, and specialise in the management and treatment of these conditions.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
* Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the hospital and particularly the medical team. This will regularly include typing, minute taking, receiving telephone enquiries, diary and appointment management, managing correspondence, meeting and greeting visitors and other administrative tasks as appropriate. You will also be required to liaise with other Priory Healthcare sites and departments, Insurers, GPs and Commissioners regarding specific patient details and invoicing.
* To provide cross cover within specified Medical Secretaries teams, as assigned by your line manager.
* Provide exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a positive customer experience.
* You will be required to accurately record Independent Consultant time to ensure appropriate invoicing controls are in place for the hospital. Independent Consultant Time is designated as time you spend completing tasks assigned to you by a Consultant.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate should have excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills, along with the ability to audio-type. A solid understanding of medical terminology is required, as well as a passion for delivering high-quality service to the hospital. Strong organizational skills are essential, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Attention to detail is crucial, ensuring accuracy and precision in all responsibilities. The candidate must be a reliable team player, and possess a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
