Job title - Legal Secretary Location - Bishop Auckland Salary - Competitive Salary Hours - Full Time - Monday to Friday 9:00 - 17:00 About the role - This is a hands on Legal Secretary position supporting a solicitor within a well regarded, long established firm. You'll be involved in drafting documents, managing files, liaising with clients and providing day to day administrative support in a fast paced legal environment. While experience in the legal sector is preferred, it is not essential. Candidates with strong administrative skills from other industries are encouraged to apply. Duties - Act as a key contact for clients and third parties, managing communications and handling general enquiries Draft, review and manage legal documents and client files with minimal supervision Assist clients with paperwork and provide updates on case progress Maintain accurate case management records and support solicitors with typing, filing and administrative duties Manage incoming mail, appointments and messages, resolving routine matters independently when appropriate Deliver excellent client care and perform other reasonable tasks to support the team Key Skills - At least 1 year of secretarial experience required - Open to applicants from a non legal sector High accuracy and attention to detail with strong audio and copy typing skills Well organised, able to manage workloads and maintain up to date, structured files Proactive, taking initiative in daily tasks Confident using digital case management systems, dictation tools, and Microsoft Office (preferred) Professional, clear communicator with clients, colleagues and external contacts Committed to delivering high standards of client service and care Flexible, reliable team player who can also work independently and support others In return, you'll receive a competitive salary, 28 days of holiday plus bank holidays and the opportunity to be part of a team known for its professionalism, integrity and personal approach.
