Lead Power Systems Engineer – Power Quality & EMC (Naval)
We're seeking a recognized Power Systems expert with extensive Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) knowledge to join our world‑class engineering team. You'll provide technical leadership, design complex MW‑scale Power Systems, and contribute to our overall strategy across Defence, Marine, Energy, and Industrial applications.
Core Responsibilities
* Be a recognized technical expert in Power Systems, associated components & equipment.
* Provide technical ownership to projects to support the development of safe, technically‑compliant, and cost‑effective solutions at the holistic Power System level.
* Undertake all aspects of Power Systems design, including modelling, analysis, and simulation of Power Systems using standard industrial design tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK, ETAP, etc.
* Develop equipment specifications, FDS’s and support overall system‑level design.
* Ensure Power System designs comply with the relevant EMC standards, health & safety requirements, international standards, and class society rules where applicable.
Additional Responsibilities
* Support attainment of on‑time delivery, cost, and quality targets on projects with utmost focus on safety.
* Provide project‑level technical leadership in design, reviews, project‑level technical resource forecasting and estimated times to complete activities.
* Provide technical support to the project manager, lead engineer & commissioning teams in managing project deliverables and variations.
* Provide Power Systems application support & technical guidance to the commercial and site teams.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport ("UK Eyes only").
* Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
* Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject, or relevant industrial experience.
* Knowledge of Power Electronic Converter system integration, and associated EMC impact and mitigation strategies.
* Willing to travel within UK and overseas for short‑term work.
