We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Acute Medicine for the Elderly Physiotherapy Team. This team works across a range of in-patient ward areas including Acute Medical Admission, Short Stay Medical, Medicine for the Elderly and Infectious Diseases. There will be a particular focus on the field of frailty in the Acute Medical Admission Unit.
Applications are invited from Physiotherapists who have knowledge in a wide range of common and complex disorders associated with aging and who have experience of discharge planning and excellent communication skills.
Experience of working in an acute NHS hospital, the ability to use your own initiative, organise your clinical caseload in addition to being able to work as part of a team are essential for this role.
The post holder will support the Physiotherapy Medicine for the Elderly Team Leads with the effective day to day running of the Physiotherapy service in this unit. In addition, the post holder will support the professional development of rotational Band 5 Physiotherapy staff, Physiotherapy healthcare support workers and Physiotherapy students. The successful applicant will participate in the emergency duty respiratory on-call service.
An active continuous professional development programme/staff appraisal systems are in operation within the Physiotherapy Department.
