Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Sheffield (S2, S3) Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Are you passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs? GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Sheffield (S2, S3). This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may face challenges in managing their emotions and behaviour. As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will play a key role in helping pupils feel supported, understood, and ready to engage in their learning. Key Duties of SEMH TA: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive choices. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities. Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing. Essential Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour. A calm, patient, and resilient approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain consistent and supportive in challenging situations. A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
