Overview:
Full time, permanent position (4 on 4 off, alternating day shift and night shift every two weeks)
As a Transport Team Manager at Food Service Logistics, you will be in charge of managing an operational division of our company for Starbucks, managing the drivers and activities to guarantee that we consistently meet and strive to exceed our clients' expectations.
The role is based at our Coventry Depot.
You will be responsible for fleet management, including necessary administrative tasks, and making sure your staff is informed about workplace health and safety policies.
HGV knowledge and transport managerial experience required.
Salary - £40,817.46 plus night shift allowance.
Main responsibilities include:
* Fleet/HGV management on a wide range of vehicles.
* Keeping expenses under control and overseeing operational needs.
* Ensuring the operation is fully compliant with all legislative regulations including the operator licence, drivers’ hours, tachograph infringements and working time.
* Manage accident and incident reporting and investigation.
* Conduct productive, on-time performance reviews; and manage any challenging conversations with drivers.
* Handle ER problems promptly, communicating with HR and your manager to guarantee effective and consistent outcomes.
Criteria:
* Proven experience with multi-drop deliveries/planning.
* A strong people manager and communicator
* Significant experience in a managerial position within Transport or Logistics.
* A good understanding of reporting and recording performance statistics.
* Having a good understanding of Transport management systems.
* Investigating all vehicle accidents in line with FSL procedure and policy.
* Managing process and conducting any disciplinaries, grievance or absence reviews.
* Embracing being part of a wider team and being a team player.
* Maintain healthy and safety of the team and site.
* Knowledgeable and up to date on all Transport processes.
