Are you confident in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour? A welcoming primary school in Trafford is seeking a skilled and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join their team this September. The role involves providing both 1:1 and small group support, working closely with children who display behavioural difficulties, and ensuring they are fully included in school life.
Responsibilities
* Supporting children with challenging behaviour in the classroom and around school
* Using a range of behaviour management strategies to de-escalate situations and encourage positive behaviour
* Working 1:1 and with small groups to keep pupils engaged and on-task
* Encouraging emotional regulation and supporting social development
* Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school staff to implement individual behaviour plans
Qualifications
* Proven experience supporting children with behavioural difficulties
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* A calm, patient and nurturing approach to supporting pupils
* Resilience and adaptability when faced with challenging situations
* Team Teach training or equivalent (desirable, not essential)
