This is an exciting opportunity to join the Youth Justice Service (YJS) in Walsall. We are a multi‑agency service with the principal aim of preventing and reducing youth offending in Walsall in line with our ‘Child First’ vision. Walsall YJS is continually improving and striving for excellence, and we are keen that the successful candidate achieves the best outcomes for children and young people in Walsall, whilst keeping victims at the heart of everything we do.
We’re looking for practitioners who are enthusiastic, committed and up for the challenge of working with some of the most disadvantaged children and families in our communities who often have multiple and complex needs. If you’re able to assess children’s needs, develop intervention plans, review their progress and work within a complex multi‑agency context including courts, this role may be perfect for you!

Qualification: You will need to be a qualified social worker, probation officer, or have a relevant, good quality honours degree. In addition, we are also looking for candidates to hold the Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate (or PCEP) or be prepared to complete this in your first year of employment.
