Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a Reliable and Friendly Catering Assistant to work for a company in Wallingford
Role: Catering Assistant
Salary: £13.62 - £14.45 Per Hour
Location: Wallingford
Hours: 07:30-15:30, Monday to Thursday (Fridays are also available if preferred).
Key Responsibilities of the Catering Assistant:
Assist with basic food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning items.
Set up and clear down service areas, buffets, and dining spaces.
Serve food and beverages in a professional, courteous manner.
Ensure all areas are kept clean, tidy, and compliant with food safety standards.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required.
Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels for catering needs.
Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.
Support the catering team with event setup, onsite service, and pack-down.
Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest or staff requests promptly.
About you:
Level 2 Food Hygiene required
Previous catering, hospitality, or kitchen experience preferred but not essential.
Understanding of basic food hygiene practices (Food Safety Level 1/2 is a plus).
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Good time management and attention to detail.Physically able to stand for long periods and carry out manual handling tasks.
