Salary: £31,500 per annum / 35 hours per week
If you have experience working one-on-one with, and assessing the needs of, people who are homeless or similarly disadvantaged, this is an opportunity to join a busy casework team and help support guests in day centres (in Richmond) and winter night shelters.
Along with offering emergency accommodation through the winter months, they also provide year-round advice through a team of expert Caseworkers. Their shelter and services save lives and create a route out of homelessness for good.
Their Caseworkers provide specialist advice and advocacy, and employ creative thinking and practices to ensure guests are supported. They refer and signpost them to accommodation providers, health services and other relevant internal and external support services.
To apply, you will need at least one year’s experience of working one-on-one and assessing the needs of homeless people or similar disadvantaged client groups, and up-to-date knowledge of welfare issues and legislation affecting homeless people.
You will know about relevant support services available to homeless people, particularly in West London, and have a confident approach to, and experience of, dealing with challenging behaviour.
Strong time management and organisational skills, along with good case recording and competency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills are also essential.
The role is based with Vineyard Community centre in Richmond, but you would be working with colleagues based at partner day centres across West London.
The post is based three days per week at the Vineyard, with the remaining two spent either working remotely/from home or from the Glass Door head office in Fulham.
An enhanced DBS check is required prior to and during employment.
