The Team
Our Commercial Finance team partners across the business to provide analytics, insight, and challenge that drive better commercial decisions. Supporting one of the largest and most complex retail operations in European aviation, we play a vital role in delivering strong financial performance and sustainable growth.
This role sits within the Inflight Retail Finance team — a high‑profile area managing the full onboard retail P&L covering food & beverage, duty‑free, tobacco, and a growing suite of ancillary products.
The Role
As Finance Manager – Inflight Retail, you will act as a strategic business partner to the Inflight Retail leadership team, driving financial performance and supporting the delivery of the wider retail strategy.
You’ll work across the full retail P&L — from sales and margin optimisation through to logistics cost control — providing commercial challenge, robust analysis, and clear insight to influence decision‑making.
This is a highly commercial, analytically rich role in one of the most dynamic areas of the airline.
What You’ll Be Doing
Business Partnering
5. Partner strategically with Inflight Retail leadership to influence decisions across the full retail P&L
6. Challenge and support trading decisions, category strategies, pricing and promotions
7. Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders including the Head of Inflight Retail and our Commercial Director
8. Support commercial initiatives, product launches and trials through modelling, risk assessment and benefits tracking
9. Build strong relationships with Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Legal and Last Mile Providers
Performance Management
10. Monitor and analyse trading performance across products, routes, bases, and customer segments
11. Lead deep‑dive analysis on shrinkage, waste, incentives and supply chain impacts
12. Track and evaluate strategic programme performance and recommend improvement actions
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
13. Deliver high‑quality forecasts, budgets, business plans and performance reporting
14. Develop predictive analytics to enhance sales and margin forecasting
15. Support month‑end close, ensuring accurate accruals, provisions and adjustments
16. Lead product profitability analysis to inform range decisions
17. Support the creation of budget presentations for senior management
18. Drive continuous improvement across finance and commercial processes
Leadership & Collaboration
19. Build strong cross‑functional relationships and act as a subject matter expert
20. Support and mentor junior team members
