Working at Rhymney railway station, you will be responsible for ensuring that our high customer service and operational standards are consistently met.Role responsibilities You will help supervise our traincrew depot, ensuring that they have all the tools they need to deliver high levels of service & professionalism. In addition, you will assist the Conductor Management Team in maintaining high standards across the Cardiff Valley Lines network. This diverse role will entail: Supervising and organising the safe running and operation of trains at the depot. Providing a supervisory presence for the staff who are working at or visiting the depot Managing & issue the retail equipment/ticket machines for our conductors and retail staff Assist customers at the station and offering help if needed Co-ordinating staff with Control/Resources, day to day and at times of service disruption Providing customer support/ assisted journeys, especially at times of service disruption Undertake fuelling and Ad Blue maintenance of trains. The shifts vary from 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm and 10pm to 6am. The Depot Duty Manager role demands flexibility from the successful candidate. As such your working weeks and days can vary between shift and can change at short notice to meet the operational needs of the business. Please note: your shift pattern will include early starts/late finishes and also working weekends & Bank Holidays As this role also is responsible for controlling train shunting movements within the depots, so you will need to be able to meet our safety critical medical standards. As you will need to manage start up and close down of daily service at Rhymney, it is essential that you have access to your own vehicle.Welsh Language SkillsThe ability to speak/write Welsh is an essential requirement for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills.
