IT Engineer, Belfast (On-site) This is a newly created role, based in the Belfast office of an engineering consultancy, and offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, and initiative. The company employs around 120 people across four offices and currently works with an outsourced IT provider. The IT Engineer will be the on-site go to person for day-to-day IT support in Belfast, as well as the key link between the business and the external IT team. The Role Act as first point of contact for daily IT queries from staff troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Escalate more complex matters to the outsourced IT provider and follow through to resolution. Set up PCs and laptops for new employees (hardware and software installation, user accounts, imaging). Manage all software licenses to ensure compliance including renewals, upgrades, and purchasing where needed. Maintain asset records, user access, and system documentation. Support the upcoming IT upgrade including rollout and post-deployment support. The Person Experienced in IT support (2+ years) with good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, and hardware/software setup. Comfortable balancing hands-on technical support with coordination and escalation to external IT partners. Organised, proactive, and able to manage their own workload. A confident communicator who can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users. Ideally qualified in IT (HNC / equivalent), though practical experience is highly valued.
