Do you have experience in a custodial environment and a keen eye for detail? Look no further! We're seeking a Head of Resident Operations to join our team at Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre.
What You'll Do
As Head of Resident Operations you will support the Deputy Centre Manager in ensuring full contractual compliance and adherence to legislation, company policies, and procedures. You will lead and manage a team of staff, develop strategies and action plans for key departments within the Centre, and act as the Single Point of Contact for the Home Office Detention Engagement Team and other stakeholders. You will also be responsible for ensuring that financial parameters and company targets are met, manage serious operational incidents and assume the role of Silver Commander in liaison with both Corporate Command (C+C) and Home Office Gold Command.
What We're Looking For
* Substantial experience at a managerial level within a custodial environment
* Experience working within the immigration sector and a working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
* Knowledge of third party expectations, including but not limited to HMIP, and how these apply to the immigration estate
* Experience of incident management and resolution, including training at Silver Commander level
* A commitment to ensuring a safe, decent, and secure environment for all
* Commercial acumen, including budget management and driving financial efficiencies
* Experience of line management and supporting/coaching of staff to achieve effective results
* The ability to perform well under pressure, balance competing priorities, think creatively, and apply innovation to service delivery
You must be eligible for CTC clearance. You must have lived and worked in the UK for more than 3 years with no overseas trips of more than 3 months. You must hold a valid British passport or EU passport with Share Code or ILR from a Commonwealth country. You must have no criminal record or be part of an ongoing police investigation.
