Technical Support Officer Building Control #000A236E1
Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Register and validate Building Regulations applications, ensuring all submitted documents meet legislative requirements. This includes data entry into corporate systems (Idox), fee clarification for compliance, document management, and related tasks.
* Prepare and issue relevant consultations related to Building Regulations, including sewer checks and ground gas presence. Issue consultations such as sewer, fire service, and structural engineering consultations.
* Respond promptly to enquiries regarding Building Regulations via telephone and written communication, managing the service email inbox.
* Prepare and issue Building Regulation Decision Notices in collaboration with Building Control Surveyors, including data entry and statutory documentation production.
* Book, accept, and acknowledge site inspection requests efficiently, providing relevant information to the building control team.
* Issue Completion Certificates upon satisfactory project completion, under the guidance of the building control team.
* Maintain financial controls, including fee checking, invoicing, pursuing non-payments, and record maintenance, in accordance with financial regulations.
* Assist officers registered with the Building Standards Regulator in service delivery, assessments, and investigations.
* Perform weekly office duties such as processing mail, interrogating microfiche records, and producing planning notices.
* Ensure immediate action on reports of Dangerous structures, including data capture and notification, and support further investigations.
* Raise and issue Demolition Notices as required, including necessary consultations.
* Maintain accurate statutory registers and data, including spatial data, in compliance with data protection laws.
* Support KPI data collection and reporting for the Building Safety Regulator as per legal requirements.
* Manage email correspondence professionally and timely.
* Complete Building Control questions on CON 29 Local Land Charges Searches and handle Personal Searches.
* Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Planning.
* Comply with Health and Safety legislation and policies, maintaining work records in accordance with data protection and confidentiality rules.
* Adhere to the Council’s policies and regulations.
You must have:
* Enhanced DBS/Update service.
* References for the last 5 years of employment.
