<div><h3>Job Overview</h3><p>We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity, for an experienced nurse to join our Specialist Palliative Care Team (SPCT), currently consisting of Hospital and Community Macmillan Palliative Care Nurse Specialists, Consultants in Palliative Medicine, and Admin and Clerical Team.</p><p>The SPCT provides specialist support, care and advice to patients and their families living with life limiting illness, in the west of North Wales, across primary and secondary care.</p><p>The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a high quality, accessible palliative care service, providing specialist support, care and advice to patients and their families living with life limiting disease. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and rotate across Mon and Gwynedd community as required. The post holder will be expected to work weekdays and regular weekends, during the hours of 9 - 5pm.</p><p>If you have the relevant experience and qualifications, alongside a strong desire to work within specialist palliative care, then we would love to hear from you.</p><p>Informal enquiries and visits are strongly encouraged.</p><h3>Main Duties</h3><p>To work within the Specialist Palliative Care Team (SPCT), Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.</p><p>To contribute to the delivery of a high quality, accessible palliative care service, providing specialist support, care and advice to patients and their families living with life limiting disease.</p><p>The Highly Specialist Nurse is an autonomous practitioner and has the freedom to act to influence patient care and service provision. They will exercise higher levels of judgement, discretion and decision-making in specialist palliative care, in relation to the management of patients, their carers and professionals involved in their care, across all specialities and all care settings.</p><p>The Highly Specialist Nurse will be able to demonstrate higher levels of clinical decision making and so enable the monitoring and improving of standards of care through supervision of practice, as direct or indirect activity, clinical audit, development of practice through research, teaching, and the support of professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership.</p><p>The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.</p><h3>Working for our organisation</h3><p>Join Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales, the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000, across North Wales.
