Overview
Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL) premises through effective and efficient methods, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment and meeting NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards.
Responsibilities
* Deliver domestic services to support the NHS Lanarkshire workforce and visitors.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire cleaning standards.
* Assist with basic housekeeping tasks in a busy healthcare environment.
* Participate in risk assessments and health & safety procedures.
* Support new staff in their working environment and assist as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
* On‑the‑job training and induction (4‑6 weeks).
* Health & Safety knowledge and participation in risk assessments.
* Completion of Prevention, Assessment & Management Of Violence & Aggression (PaMOVA) training levels 1 and 2 (where required).
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
* Complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
* Work efficiently in a busy environment.
* Basic information technology skills.
* Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence (required).
* Experience in a domestic services/cleaning environment (desirable).
* Knowledge of systems and processes such as HAI, Manual Handling, Management of Aggression, Infection Control, COSHH, Fire Safety (desirable).
Contract & Working Pattern
Contract type: Permanent (Part‑time).
Working hours: 14.8 hours per week.
Salary: Pro‑rata based on hours worked.
Location
Coathill, based at Coathill Hospital/Wester Moffat Hospital. Working pattern confirmed by the hiring manager. Candidates may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
