Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 4 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) at a warm and inclusive primary school in Weston-super-Mare. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education, neurodiversity-affirming practice, and child-centred support. Role Responsibilities: Deliver consistent, nurturing 1:1 support tailored to the child's unique needs, helping them access learning and thrive in a structured, predictable environment. Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement evidence-based interventions and individualised learning plans. Support the child's emotional regulation, social communication, and academic development using strengths-based approaches. Monitor progress and contribute to multi-agency reviews and planning meetings. Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children with ASC or other neurodevelopmental needs, particularly in a 1:1 capacity. Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a trauma-informed, nurturing approach. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) or equivalent experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting, therapeutic relationships. Confident in managing behaviour using positive behaviour support (PBS) strategies.
