Join our Outstanding Sixth Form College with a reputation for Academic Excellence and Pastoral Care; a College where all staff have a shared responsibility to actively promote inclusion, fostering an environment where every individual feels valued, respected and supported in their learning and development, and to identify and remove barriers to participation and learning, so that every student can achieve and thrive.

The Role

The Student Progress Advisor will be a key member of our pastoral support team, responsible for up to 11 tutor groups. You will work closely with students to ensure they complete their courses and reach their academic goals while also supporting their personal development. This role is central to improving student achievement and well-being, ensuring students excel both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the primary point of communication with parents/guardians of students within your tutor groups.
* Track and monitor the academic progress of tutees, ensuring they meet or exceed their expected achievement levels.
* Identify students at risk of underachievement and initiate timely interventions.
* Monitor attendance and punctuality, implementing interventions as needed to promote consistent attendance.
* Ensure students maintain high standards of personal conduct in alignment with the ethos of the college.
* Support student welfare and well-being, offering early help when necessary, and referring safeguarding concerns in line with college policies.
* Maintain accurate student records using Cristalweb and CPOMS.
* Deliver group tutorials as part of the core Tutorial Programme, Tutorial+, and The Prospects Diploma.
* Participate in careers advice and guidance, supporting students with UCAS applications and progression planning.
* Provide references for students\' UCAS applications and progression applications.
* Assist with careers events such as Getting Ready Day, work experience facilitation, and support the wider college activities including open evenings and parents’ consultation events.
* Participate in the College’s Quality Assurance Cycle and Performance Management process.
* Attend training sessions and undertake statutory training as required for the role.

Contract Information

This post is a term time plus two weeks contract. Term time at the College starts the week after GCSE results day. The additional two weeks contractually include working two days over A-Level results day, and two days to support enrolment over GCSE results days. There will also be a requirement to work some twilight sessions across the academic year to support interview evenings.

How To Apply

Please apply via our website and complete the attached application form and equality monitoring form and email all completed applications to recruitment@prospecttrust.org.uk by 9am, Wednesday 8th October 2025. Early applications are encouraged, as the Trust may elect to interview and select before the advertised closing date.
