Overview
A career-building opportunity with a clear path to Senior Property Manager within three years.
Chapmans Property Management is hiring. As we move into a milestone year for the business, alongside an exciting brand refresh, we’re looking for a Trainee Property Manager who wants to grow with us and play a meaningful role in the next chapter of Chapmans.
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded, independent Edinburgh lettings agency and develop through structured training, clear KPIs, and hands‑on experience from day one.
Full-time | Permanent
The Role
You’ll work closely with a senior property manager, initially supporting the management of an established portfolio.
From the outset, you’ll be involved in:
* Tenant communication and issue resolution
* Property inspections and reporting
* Maintenance coordination
* Check‑ins, check‑outs and inventories
* Property relets
* Landlord communication and support
You’ll be trained in the Chapmans way of doing things; a more hands‑on, relationship‑led approach than typical high‑volume agencies. Over time, you’ll take on increasing responsibility, building towards full portfolio management.
Progression & Development
We offer a clearly defined progression route.
Trainee Property Manager → Property Manager → Senior Property Manager
* Property Manager typically within 12–18 months
* Senior Property Manager typically within three years
You’ll work towards defined milestones including inspections, inventories, maintenance management, landlord communication and portfolio responsibility.
Alongside this, you’ll receive:
* Support towards ARLA / Letwell qualifications
* Ongoing training and development
* Salary progression linked to performance and responsibility
This role won’t suit everyone. It’s fast‑paced and requires a high level of accountability. For the right person, it offers a clear path, strong support, and the opportunity to build a meaningful career in property.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Driven and proactive – You take ownership and follow things through
* Interested in property – industry experience is preferred but must have a clear desire to build a career in the industry
* Highly organised and detail‑focused – You understand that small details matter
* A strong communicator – Confident with tenants, landlords and contractors
* A team player – Collaborative and supportive in a small team environment
* Comfortable with accountability – You work well in a high‑visibility, high‑standard environment
* Minimum 6-12 months experience of working in a fast‑paced office environment
* Full driving licence
