Join our Environmental and Forensic Investigation team as an Administration and Office Assistant, supporting vital operations in a hybrid Glasgow-based role.
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our specialist Environmental and Forensic Investigation team as an Administration and Office Assistant, based in our Glasgow laboratory on Brand Street. This hybrid role offers a unique chance to support a team of Environmental Consultants and Forensic Investigators, providing essential administrative and office-based support across the UK function.
You’ll be at the heart of our operations, helping to maintain a well-organised and professional environment. From managing exhibit storage and coordinating collections and deliveries, to handling reception duties and supporting invoicing and purchase order processes, your role will be varied and impactful. You’ll also act as a key communication point for both colleagues and customers, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, organisation, and a proactive mindset. Ideally, you’ll have experience in an office or customer service environment, with strong IT skills—particularly in Word and Excel—and the confidence to work independently when needed. While knowledge of insurance claims is a bonus, full training will be provided.
This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team, where your contribution will be valued and your development encouraged. If you’re looking for a role that combines structure, variety, and purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
The skills you will have when you apply:
1. Office experience: Previous experience working in a customer service or office environment.
2. Communication skills: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication abilities, with a professional and friendly manner.
3. Organisational ability: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
4. IT proficiency: Confident using Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
5. Self-motivation: Able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision, including occasional lone working.
6. Reception duties: Comfortable handling front-of-house responsibilities and acting as a key point of contact for visitors and callers.
7. Logistics coordination: Experience or willingness to manage deliveries, collections, and maintain accurate records of physical items.
8. Team support: Willingness to support remote colleagues with administrative tasks such as invoicing and purchase orders.
9. Language skills: Bi-lingual or multi-lingual abilities are a plus in our global business environment.
